About Social Keyword Generator

Social Keyword Generator is an independent, free web tool suite for creators, small businesses and freelance marketers who need to know which words and hashtags their audience actually uses. The site has no investor, no subscription tier and no sales team. It is built and maintained by a small team, funded by the advertising that appears next to the tools.

What we do

We run six focused generators: Instagram hashtags, TikTok hashtags, YouTube keywords, YouTube video tags, search engine keywords, and a general hashtag generator for platforms without a dedicated tool. Each one takes a short description of your topic and returns a structured list you can copy straight into a post, a caption, a title or a set of tags.

We deliberately do not try to be a full marketing platform. There is no campaign manager, no CRM and no reporting dashboard. There is a tool, a short guide explaining how to use its output well, and a copy button.

Why we built it

The tools we used while running our own projects lived behind subscription walls. Free alternatives tended to be either extremely limited or thin wrappers around nothing useful. We wanted a tool that answered one question quickly: given this topic, what should I actually write?

So we built the smallest thing that answers that question well, and made it free. The suite started as a single Instagram hashtag generator and grew into the six tools you see today because the same problem kept repeating on other platforms.

How the generators work

Each generator sends your topic to a large language model and asks for a structured list of keywords or hashtags appropriate to that platform. We use models from Google's Gemini family, called from our own server infrastructure rather than from your browser, so your API credentials are never exposed and no third-party script needs to read your text.

The platform-specific behaviour comes from the instructions we send with your topic, not from scraping other people's posts. That is an important distinction: we do not copy hashtag sets from successful accounts. We ask a model to reason about your topic, the platform's discovery mechanics and the level of competition, and to return a list that reflects that reasoning.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not require an account, so there is no profile of your searches tied to your identity. We do not run affiliate schemes inside the tool results, and we do not accept payment to rank one keyword above another.

We also do not claim that a generated list guarantees reach. No tool can promise that. What a good keyword list does is remove guesswork: it gives you a considered set of terms to test, so that your effort goes into measuring and iterating instead of into staring at an empty caption box.

How the site is funded

Advertising pays for the servers and the language model calls. We keep the ad density moderate on purpose: ads appear around the content, not inside the tools, and we do not use pop-ups, interstitials or auto-redirects.

If advertising stopped covering the running cost, we would rather reduce the number of tools than put the existing ones behind a paywall.

Content and accuracy

Our blog articles are written to explain the mechanics behind the tools: how hashtag discovery works on a given platform, how search intent shapes a keyword list, what changes when a platform updates its ranking system. Where we cite platform behaviour or figures, we aim to link to the platform's own documentation or to a primary source.

If you spot something that is out of date or simply wrong, tell us. Corrections are made in the article itself and the update date is changed.
